Victoria has taken prized burl woods, one of the most misunderstood and mysterious materials available to sculptors and created a body of “one of a kind” wildlife sculptures rarely found in the fine art community. Burls offer Victoria the ability to create from rough, malformed and twisted formations wildlife subjects which simply evolve from within an unpredictable source.For her, working in Carpathian elm, silver maple or rose myrtle burl wood gives her a sense of rebirth which is reflected in her unique single body creations.

Bristlecone pines are the earth’s oldest living inhabitants dating back to over 4,700 years. Many of these trees living today were seedlings when the pyramids were being constructed, mature in the time of Christ and today are considered protected ancient patriarchs. Victoria has a special appreciation for these dense, gnarled, twisted specimens and has taken her interpretive style of sculpture to a level not seen anywhere.
